hello all, my school has an msdn subscription so I'm able to access the library. As such I'm wanting to take a turn learning exchange server, but I'm not really sure if it's something I would benefit learning (I'm mostly a developer, not much into collabortion stuff, still I would like to at least try it out)...
I don't really know what it's all about, but I'm wanting to create something like this: I want to have exchange server check my POP3 email from my website domain (SelArom.com) so that it is stored on the exchange server. then I want to be able to connect to it using outlook on my desktop and laptop so that I always have access to my email. I would also like to sync my contacts and calendar so wherever I am I know what I need to do... is this at all what exchange server is designed to do?
any information you can give me would be really helpful. if you have time to talk about it i'd like to hear your own description of what exchange server is all about rather than just linking me to the microsoft site. it's not that I don't want to read about it, it's just that I've been to the site and it's mostly all about why I should upgrade to server 2003 over 5.5, not a high-level overview...
thanks so much for your time!
