I have an ECS K7S5A that will not get past the post. It comes up with the bios screen that says American Megatrends and then that's it. It just hangs when it says checking nvram. I looked it up and that means the memory. So I tried replacing the memory with memory I know is good and still the same thing. I was wondering if there is anything I could try to troubleshoot this or is it a bad board?

My computer:
Athlon tbird850
ECS K7S5A
Micron pc2100 DDR
300w power supply

hehe i had EXACT same problem when i built a computer for a friend. :)
i have a solution hehe :)

first try to reset the bios with the jumper following the manual.

then next time u boot the computer keep tapping on DEL.

it'll reset the bios as well.

now enjoy the power of cheap/fast motherboard!

i am planning to get another one for a system im building for my brother. :)

I reset the cmos using the jumper and tried tapping on the delete still nothing. The funny thing is I forgot to put the first ide cable in and it booted up past the nvram and the sat there looking for somehting on that channel.
