Need Help With Drive Letters!

I know this doesn't belong in this forum, but I need a quick response.
I recently bought and installed a new 3 gig HD on my computer yesterday.
I booted up the computer and it had changed the drive letters.
This was no problem until I started up NHL 2001.
It said "Please insert NHL 2001 Cd into CD Rom Drive D:"
D: is my new 3 gig HD now, and the Cd-rom drive is now F:
I have a great season going in NHL 2001, and I don't want to uninstall.
Also, I went into system settings, and it has been no good, cause I can't change my two HD letters
Can anyone help me please?

Thanks!

Try looking through some of the game's .ini files or config files. When some games install, they configure themselves to look in one drive only. Look for something that indicates your CDROM drive (pretty much anything in those files that mentions D:). Should be fine if you find the right file(s).

or you can get partition magic and mess around with that, it comes with a prog that will assign drive letters and make sure all the letters are correctn throughout your comptuer.

Check any registry entries that NHL 2001 may have made, and look for a tag called InstallDir, InstallSource, or something to that effect. You should be able to change it to the proper letter of your CD-ROM.

btw, if you still have problem with NHL2001, that is a known problem with quite a few of EA games. This usually happens if you have more than one CD-ROM installed on your computer. What they recommend is to insert AudioCD in your CD-RW and that should solve the problem. :) Good luck and let me know if you need the exact page with instructions.
