Need help with DOTA

Keep getting kicked so I decided to download it off the net and get it manually (im a newb). I put it in the maps/Download folder but when I try to create a custom game it doesn't show up. Other maps that I downloaded in-game show up though. The DOTA file I DLed has a .w3x extension but all the other pre-downloaded maps don't..

Please help!
