need help with disabling punkbuster for bf2

me and my friends just got a new server on BF2 and would like to disable the swearing to allow people to swear. but i just cant figure it out. is there any admins on ATOT that have done this before. please help.

dude if you want to get dirty...

enable MIC and start saying whatever you want.

that said, I think if you are really hardcore, you'll put it into the mouse and keyboard commands to achieve instant kills in the game, and not waste time, typing unless it's a specific command.

but I mean, even if you swear, it's not going to change the nature of the game except make it put a bunch of cuss words on the screen. gameplay will still be aggressive, just making you "hate" more. lol

hate or be hated, who cares, leave the buster on
 
i agree with Ulfhednar. punkbuster is designed to stop ppl from cheating. unless this is a closed server, don't turn it off or it won't be fun when ppl cheat.

Actually, there is a very good reason to turn of PB that does not involve cheating. PB did not work under RC1 of Vista (have not loaded RC2 yet.) I asked PB about it through a support request. Their official answer is that they will not look at it until Vista ships.
 
thanks pontifex for agreeing. i just want gamers to have fun and just say what they want. i mean i dont want them booted for swearing. really do you know people that dont swear. the swearing if fine by me and i would totally allow it but then again if adding the swearing allows the cheating then no.... i just would like the swearing and not all the hacking and glitching. i just want to know if its possible. and x80064 who the hell are you to think im lying.

Punkbuster and the Language Filter are two different things. Punkbuster must be enabled to be a Ranked Server. Your server provider, should assist you in making any modifications to the default language filters.
 
I got bf2 to run under RC2.

never used rc1.

you have to set it to run under administartor mode, otherwise pb will crash the game

he specifically said punkbuster which is the anticheat program.. it has nothing to do with swearing..
