Need help with Dell 9300

I have some questions about the Dell 9300:

I am going with the go 6800, do I have to have the 2ghz processor to game? Which screen should I order? This question is here because of all the complaints I hear about the 9300.

I doubt you'd need the 2ghz one. It's overpriced, just get a 1.8. For your screen, get the WUXGA True COlor or whatever. 1920x1200 is sweet.

Nah, I wouldnt say the 2ghz is absolutly neccessary to game with. Mine has the 6800 with a 1.6ghz and its fine for me.

Isnt that the screen that a lot of people are complaining about? Something about sparkles and color bleeding.

Yes it is. Many people have gotten lucky and got one without any problems though. I got the WXGA and I love it. I think the 1920 would have too small text for me.

I went with the wxga, too and am happy with the 9300. Also went with the 1.6 and it does what I need, even captures DV25 to an external HD without dropping a frame. Do get the go6800 card, though. It is better to have a slower processor and high end video card.

True Life will get you a super reflective screen where the colors appear MUCH nicer, IMHO. however, that reflectiveness can be irritating to some. also the resolution is higher. but it all comes down to that reflectiveness. if you mostly watch movies or game in the dark, you will absolutely love true life. if not, then i dunno....

I have the wuxga (1920x1200 truelife) and it is beautiful. The whites look a little dirty but overall this is my only complaint. The colors are fantastic. IMO the glossy screen is not a distraction and is much more readable than a standard display outdoors. My Dell 6000 has a wxga with the normal anti glare and it is very hard to see in a bright outdoor environment where my XPS2 is much brighter.
