I am not the greatest with proccessor info yet and would like to know your opinions. I have been looking at Neweggs website at the P4 3.2. There are several models, which is better? Here are the 3 I am looking at.

P4 3.2

P4 3.2

P4 3.2

Is there a real big difference in these processors?

I will be putting on an Asus P4S800 E-Deluxe board with 2 gig of Kingston. Thanks for all the help!!

If you plan to run at stock speeds, I would favor the 3.2C (the first link). At 3.2, it is basically a toss up between the C and E models, and I would perfer the C b/c the E runs really hot. The third link (as far as I can tell) is the new processor for the new chipsets that Intel just released. Thats my personal opinion tho.

Your motherboard is based on socket 478 so 3.2C or 3.2E are your options. The 3rd 3.2 P4 is based on LGA 775 so will need a new motherboard.

So, 3.2C vs 3.2E, I would go with C northwoods because they run faster in benchmarks compared to E prescotts when compared clock per clock speeds at 3.2Ghz. If overclocking, then I might lean towards 3.2E "prescotts" and use watercooling.

Stick with the 3.2 C and socket 478. It a better bang for the buck.

I would agree that for the 478 pin I would go with the 3.2c, unless you ca afford the 3.2EE:D However if you plan to overclock your chip, then the 3.0c is the best choice. Most of them can give 3.5~3.6 on 1.55 vcore.
