Need help with Counter-Strike....I can't Play!

When I join servers it says your half life files have been modified...please remove the modification to play on this server then it will not let me play? I'm sure there is something I should do but don't know what it is. The only modifications to my CS/TFC files is my ATI vid card fix, maps and .wav files it has downloaded from servers. What gives? Any help appreciated.

Uninstall Half Life and all your mods and maps, then re-install Half Life from the CD, apply latest Half Life patch and install CounterStrike 1.3 - that should solve the problem.

BTW - are you using an official CD key?

Its sounds like an anti-cheat is seeing something wrong. Are you running any anti cheat programs? (Cheating-death or Paladin?) Also, when you log on to the server does it mention anything about scanning your hard drive for cheats? Some anti-cheat programs misidentify the OpenGl drivers. If that is the problem, you need to download a modded OpenGL driver set (Version 2.5 if I remember correctly) Heres the link for paladin anticheat, check there first as they KNOW theres a problem with ATI cards being detected incorrectly, and may have a solution. Also, try another server and let us know if you get a message that your HD is being scanned for cheats. You should be able to play in servers that dont use any anti cheat.

Try that first, if it doesnt work, PM me or post here. But, thats the only thing I can think of right off. Also, have you used ANY mods or cheats for EITHER Half Life OR CS? I belivee Paladin scans ALL Seiarra Half Life software (HL, TFC, CS....) So a cheat somewhere else may be interfereing, but chances are its a OpenGL driver as thats kinda a known issue....

I have never used any cheats, I am using Open GL. It doesn't happen on every server just some. The funny thing is it is on a lot of the servers and it just started to happen last night. I have changed nothing and was thinking there is some new anti-cheat out there. I use paladin and also have CD. I have my official original CD key and am the only one with it.
