Need Help with Component that can play files on TV

Here's the specifics:

I have a Samsung LN52a650 TV.
An internet connection on the wall right under the TV.

Besides having an HTPC, what's another option for viewing and playing files from another computer on the network on the TV? Is there any component out there than can see network drives and play files? Or am I just thinking of an HTPC?
