Need help with cd writing problem in windows xp

I tried to burn two cd's with Nero 5.0 and both failed in windows xp. I just upgraded my system to an athlon xp and an epox 8kha+ motherboard. I am not overclocking. What could be the cause. I have a 300 watt power supply and a plextor 12x10x32x cd writer. I never had problems before with my duron system. Thanks

 
I know there was an issue with one version of Nero and WinXP, it would make it so it would not rezignize (i cant spell) your cd roms. Try using a different version, an older one.
