Budget: I'm looking to spend under $1000.00USD. I've already got a hard drive and a gpu.

Main uses of the PC: I will be doing alot of gaming (pc and emulators) and streaming those games. I'm not going to be doing any video editing/3D rendering or anything like that. This will strictly be a gaming/streaming build. I'd like to stream in full 1080p as I have a decent upload, but that's probably unrealistic; well see what happens.

Current PC: Intel Q9550, GTX 560 ti (this is the gpu I'm keeping whilst putting in my old 8800GTX for a hand-me-down of my current pc) EVGA 680i mobo, WD Velociraptor 300gb, Antec 900, Patriot 4gig ddr2, Creative X-Fi ExtrmeGamer.

Native resolution of my monitor is: 1920x1080, its an ASUS VH236H, I don't mind playing games in fullscreen when I'm forced to but I prefer to use window mode.

Overclocking: Eventually I'd like to overclock my cpu as much as an on air will allow, further I'm not sure which aftermarket heatsink to buy for the 2700k, I'm not a fan of the bulky looking ones (You know the ones that are just as big or close to the size your motherboard) Something that's sleek, while still providing decent cooling for the cpu and dosen't cost more than the PSU would be nice.

Storage: Have plenty atm and not really looking to get SSD just yet!

Special Requirements: As long as I can stream my games with an fps of around 25+ and have my games run around 60fps on mid-high settings (I don't ever run ultra settings) I'll be fine.

Ok, now thats out of the way! (finally right?) here are the parts I'm looking at:

i7-2700K

ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z/GEN3

CORSAIR HX750

G.SKILL Ripjaws X 8GB

I'm probably going to get another Antec 900 case but if anyone here has any suggestions for a case with a similar design/price please let me know!

Other thoughs: Its been about 5+ years since I've built my pc and only updated the cpu and video card in the past 2+ years, this time its going to an almost complete upgrade.
...I also have this fetish for smaller hardware that packs a punch, hence why I chose this particular motherboard (dont ask why, I just do) but if you guys have a better suggestion than the one I picked please let me know, even if its not micro atx.

For a strictly gaming build, that i7 is way overkill. Get a 2500K, give it a 4.0-4.2GHz OC, add a CM 212 EVO cooler and you are golden. Your 560ti will pair nicely with it and a good 650w PSU (I have a TX750 on mine, it's overkill as well...)

I would swap out the Ripjaws and stab in a set of Samsung 1.35v RAM... you say you have a fetish for smaller hardware that packs a punch...

You should be. It's the only component that you can buy today that is over 10 times faster than what you currently have. I recommend the Crucial M4 128GB for $146.

Thoughts:
- CPU: Waste of money for gaming compared to the i5 2500K.
- Mobo: I didn't see any specific needs in the OP that call for a $190 mobo. Something like the EVGA Z68 SLI Micro for $110 AR will serve you well.
- PSU: Overkill on wattage and cost. Something like the $66 AR AP 650TX would be fine.
- RAM: Way too expensive for what it is. This Patriot kit will perform within a percent or so.
- Case: Why are you getting all MicroATX parts and then a full ATX case? Something like a Define Mini is a better match for your other parts.
- HSF: There's no replacement for displacement. To get good performance, you're going to have to get a big tower cooler or a water cooler with a radiator that's just as big. The Hyper 212+ is a good value for cooling performance.
