I think I messed up the bios setting by mistake. I accidently hit the reset button on the last page of bios and now whenever my computer restarts, the message "unable to detect ultra100 bios driver". What do I have to do to fix this specifically? Thanks.

reset to factory defaults?
that shouldnt have screwed anything up i think...
what motherboard?

is your harddrive on the ultra100 connector (a promise onboard perhaps)
go through the bios and look for something like load onboard ata bios or device or something along those lines

Looks like I did reset it to factory default. I'm using a Asus A7V133 motherboard. The hard drive is connected to the IDE port even though there is a secondary raid port as well.

go to the boot menu in bios, is there anything like load onboard ata first or wahtever?

or advanced>pci configuration

can you push F1 to continue?

I found the "Load Onboard ATA BIOS" in the bios boot menu and is and has been set to "auto". The computer still will not detect the ATA100 driver during startup. When I push F1 it goes to a help window. Could I have a faulty hard drive? Thanks for your help!

try the drive on a different connector (possibly one that is not on the ultra ata100 controller)
if it still doesnt work
try the drive in another computer as secondary or slave
if its detected in the other computers bios there might be somewhat of a problem
if the drive is not detected in the other computers bios either, it may be a dead harddrive
