I just bought a 256 meg stick of Kingston Hyper X 2700 for my Asus A7s333 and I now want to up the FSB to 333. I have the board on jumperfree mode but I cant find where I set the FSB. Can anyone who has delt with this MB please help me out.

Thanks

The A7S333 doesn't support 333mhz FSB, it does however allow you to use DDR333 memory with a FSB of 266mhz although performance will suffer. It's best to stick with DDR266 memory with this motherboard.

Sorry about that last thread.

I would like to overclock the CPU how do I do that with this MB. Here's my airflow situation I have 2 80mm fans (1) side "exhaust" , the other is front and a 60mm rear.

I have the same board but I don't overclock. A super solid stable board but not exactly catered to overclockers. You can overclock the FSB. In fact, I'll be right back and check it out.

back-

BIOS - It's under Advanced-->CPU/PCI MHz.

The only problem is, you're going to be pushing that PCI bus too much. (42MHz from 33MHz) It's possible that you could kill your PCI devices. It doesn't lock it at 33MHz like some boards do. Unless your multiplier is hard-unlocked, you won't be able to adjust that either. I wouldn't take the risk...

Also like someone already mentioned, you'll get better performance with the CPU and memory in sync. Run the CPU/PCI at 133/33 and memory at 266 for optimal performance with that board. As for memory timings, I've got mine set to 6-2-2-2 and normal timings with 2x256 Crucial PC2100.

You've got a couple problems trying to OC with this board. First, it doesn't 'unlock' processors like nForce2 does. So without mod'ing the CPU you can only OC by increasing the FSB. The next problem is that there's no 1:5 PCI divider, which means you probably won't be able to increase the FSB too far beyond 133MHz. As someone mentioned, the "333" only refers to 166MHz memory (DDR, hence the 2 X 166 = 333), only 166MHz FSB is not 'officially' supported. However, you can adjust the FSB in the BIOS. Check the manual, and it will tell you where the CPU settings are. You have to change the CPU setting from 'Auto' to 'Manual' and then you will be able to adjust some of the CPU settings, but not the multiplier.

ok, so than how do I overclock the CPU.

Hard mod the CPU or buy another board.

Excuse me? I've been overlocking using the A7S333 for months, there's lots of options in the bios for changing the fsb and the multipliers providing the cpu is unlocked. I picked up an Athlon XP 1700 Thoroughbred B and I've underclocked and overclocked it. The only problem is that I was unable to overclock it any higher than (12.5x133mhz) 1.67ghz without increasing the fsb.

Have you unlocked the cpu first otherwise your doomed before you start?

I don't think you've mentioned what cpu you own?
