OK..here is what I'm dealing with...I just picked up an OPTY 165 and plan on using it in my system:
dfi lanparty ut nf4 sli-dr expert
2 (sticks) gig of G.Skill DDR 400
HIS X1900XT (512mb)
Can't remember the PSU but it's a very good one
home built mish mash water cooling setup that works very well (DangerDen, Thermaltake and a very high efficient pump (can't remember the name) so cooling is not a problem!

now...help me please...can some give me the exact things I need to move around to try and move this 165 up? I bought this off a guy that claimed it did 2.8Ghz on air so I should be able to get it up higher...I just can't get out of the old Socket A days and tried to read the easy guide at the top of this forum and it just really confuses me.

Please help! I'll supply whatever info you need.

Those boards max out at a little over 300mhz on the fsb. I can't remember exact figures but with liquid cooling you can get around 320-335mhz. I just retired my Opty 165 and SLI-DR board but I can hook it up again if you need some settings. I gamed on it for almost a year no problem @ 2.7. on air.

Hey...that would be awesome. My first try I got the chip to 2.5 and running very stable...but to tell you the truth I just copied some guys specs on found on a google search and I know I can a lot higher because my temps are in the very low 30's so far.

wow... careful tho, that board is very very very picky with ram. First board ive had where i needed to go though 3-4 sticks to find the one it liked.

Ummm... i would need to know your settings your currently at.

If possible can you take a picture of your bios where you touch cpu and memory fsb.

Also you need to watch your HTT multi when you oc those girls. 4x is probably where your at with a 2500 oc.

I have the regular DFI SLI-DR Lanparty board but I think the bios is nearly identical to the Expert UT board. I was using Mushkin PC4000 2x1gb sticks.
The Auto settings I have in the DRAM Config can be tweaked but it only nets a few hundred more mb/s in bandwidth at the expense of stability. The highest I can go on the FSB is 312 with air cooling.

Here's some screenshots of benchmarks.

Here's the former DFI-Street forum database. There's a ton of Opty 165's in there.

Thanks ShadowdogKGB....you really helped me. I'm at 3Ghz with temps still in the 30's. I'm still a little confused on the memory timing but in time will work it out.
