Need Help with AMW V101

I've checked all over the net to find how to change my Region settings on my AMW V101 player. Unfortunately it seems that I've got one of the ones made from mid to late last year that has the MT1379 chip inside it.

My stats are:

Version: 0F.06.00.01
Sub-ver: 06.11.22.06
8032: 03.01.06.04
Servo: 00.00.F6.57
Risc: 02.01.06.04
Dsp: 02.03.01.58
Region Code: 1

Apparently AMW offers region free updates to some of its other players but not this one.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular player and sub-ver? If you do, and have been able to change the region code, I would like to hear how you did it (even it's a hardware change, the lab I work for should have all the equipment I need to change the internal hardware).
