need help with AMD processor

I recently bought a Shuttle SK21G and paired it up with a Sempron and a gig of ram for a small, cheap, functional, quiet pc.

It has been a couple of months since then, and today I came across what looks to be a pretty good deal on newegg; something that, to me, would be worth the performance boost.

I tried doing some research, but on the Shuttle site under processor, it lists only "Sempron? Processor (Socket 754) 2500+ ~ 3700+ CPU support"

So my question is this: Would that Socket 754 Athlon work in my Shuttle, or am I going to have to spend almost twice as much to get the equally clocked Turion?

any socket 754 cpu should work fine

I dont see how your gonna get much of a performance boost but it should work.

It will work, it won't really be that much of an upgrade unless you're overclocking it.
