Need help with AIM trick

Asking on behalf of a friend:

There is apparently some way to, in the middle of a conversation over AIM, fake a message from one of the participants. A friend today had someone pull that on her, and they then called her joking about all the things she had supposedly said...so, does anyone know how to fake part of the aim conversation so a message appears to have been sent by someone when it wasnt really?

after you type a line, hit shift+enter. then cut and paste the name of the target, and type a line...make it look nice...

Ahh that trick

A way around it is to add timestamps to all the aim messages. It flips on and off using F2. Mines always on to prevent this from happening.

*sigh* I must have peaked in intelligence at age 17, cuz this 18 thing just isn't working. that trick (shift-enter) should have been obvious to me.

i use timestamp for... timestamp not for countering fake msgs. maybe i been on irc too long
