Need help with Adaptec DuoConnect USB2/Firewire card

I installed the Duo card a couple of years ago to provide USB2 connectivity for my computer. Recently it seems that data transfers via USB2 have been very slow. I thought maybe I needed to reinstall my DuoConnect driver. However when I went to Device Manager to access the Adaptec controller and update the driver I found that it was not listed. There are 2 Intel USB host controllers and 3 NEC PCI to USB controllers listed but none of them have the Adaptec driver installed. I wonder if during some update of Windows XP I got some driver updates that bumped my DuoConnect driver.
Anyway, I need help in understanding this and how I can reinstall the Duo driver and restore my USB2 capability.

My system is a Dell Dimension 4300, 1.6 mghz, 500 meg RAM, Windows XP, SP2 w/latest updates. I have a printer, scanner and external HD connected via USB2 and an external DVD R/W drive connected via Firewire thru the Adaptec card.

Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Mike
