Need help with adaptec 7899 !!!!

I have a Dell server Power Edge 1400 with dual channel aic 7899 scsi controller. I put 2 drives in channel A ( id 1 and 2) , 2 drives in channel B (id 2 and 3). Windows 2000 server complains about hardware error. I make the 2 drive ID in channel B identical to channel A (id 1 and 2) and win2k gives me the same complaint. If i yank one channel out then win2k is ready to be installed. Please advice. How do I make these 4 drives in two raid 0 drives? Thanks!
