NEED HELP WITH ABIT KR7A-RAID

Abit KR7A-RAID MB I do not know what is wrong with this MB. I went to install a new HSF onto it, and it has never worked since, I firmly believe that its CMOS needs to be replaced ala CMOS\BIOS chip replacement. When I power up my PC with the board in it, it will not post. Just gives me a black screen. After I reset the CMOS, it then posts and then boots, of course with the wrong date, and it will not show over 512 megs of RAM. As soon as I try to set and update the bios (write to CMOS ) or as soon as I reboot out of Windows XP, it goes back to not being able to boot anymore until I clear the CMOS again...
