Hi!!
I have a Duron 800 and a GF3 Ti500 at home. But right now since I'm in college and living in a dorm, I'm stuck with my old PII 333MHz (on an ASUS P2L97 mobo), 128MB of RAM, an SB AWE64 (ISA) and a 32MB GF2 MX200 card to play games. As expected, I haven't been getting pretty good framerates with the more recent games lately (JK2 runs along fine at 640x480x32, but RTCW is kinda choppy even at 640x480x16, and Dungeon Siege is playable at the lowest settings).
I'm thinking about buying a new vidcard, but I can't exactly decide which one to buy. So here is my question: Since my mobo is a pretty old one, do you know which of the following cards would work with it: GF2 GTS, GF2 Ultra, GF3 Ti200, ATI Radeon 7500, ATI Radeon 8500? This is getting me down, since I know I have a lot of things to consider such as my AGP slot (whether or not it's 1x, 2x or 4x), the CPU (which IS really old and slow), and voltage speed, etc. I don't really understand how to get with this dilema. Could you please recommend a card that give me the best bang for the buck and at the same time would work fine with my CPU/mobo configuration?
I'd really appreciate the help you could give me. Thanks very much!!
