Need help with a thinkpad

I think it is a T22, T20 or so and I just formatted it. Evidently it will not power up but I do not have the laptop in front of me yet. Any ideas on what could the possible problems be?
 
I once had a similar problem. The LED's blinked like the system was powering up, but nothing would appear on the LCD.

The problem was that the BIOS was configured to boot on the external display. Try plugging a monitor on the VGA connector and see if you can see anything when it's booting.
