Ok so I bought this about 2 weeks ago. It is a Seagate 500gb Freeagent Desk external hard drive.
I plugged it in and my computer recognized it, but when I go to my computer and click on it, it says the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable. Also on the manual it says when I plug in, a software installer should come up but it never came..
also I tried to use this on my laptop but the I got the same problem. Same message when I go to click on it and software installer never came up.
I went to the seagate website and downloaded the drivers. I got the Seagate manager a ran a test and it says the drive is 100% functioning properly.
The only issue I can think of is that when I had to backup some files, my cousin put a few files in the drive (don't know if it was successful or not) before any installation began (because it showed up as drive e). Now that I try tp put a file in it won't let me..
so anyone know what's the problem? Appreciate the help, thank you
