ok, what happened was.....i was working on a house call and decided that his system was so jacked up that we needed to reformat and reinstall windows and everything else. so i gave him a few days to back up all of his emails and important documents, showing him where everything that wasnt obvious was locted(ie favorites etc)so after reinstalling everything and getting all the devices in working order, we proceeded to backup up all of his files back to the hard disk. there were a few quicken and quickbooks files in there. although the quicken files opened without a hitch, the quickbooks asked for a ser name and pass...which i thought they would know....well....they only remembered the password, being that they havent needed to enter the username for the past two years!!! well, the guy who owns the PC has his own medical pratice and has all of his invoices and eveyrthing on that quickbooks files. my question to you is...is there anyway to somehow retrieve this username from the file? i know how to get NT paswords and the like, which i use strictly for work purposes, but is there anyway to get this back. i figure getting a username is easier than a password, maybe?
