I just helped a friend build a system with the following:
AMD Thunderbird 1.2ghz
128 mb of pc 133 kingston ram
IWILL kk266+ motherboard
antec case with 300 watt power supply
geforce 2 video card

His system locked up when he after playing a game called drone that came with the video card. When he rebooted it will only allow him to go into safe mode and there is a registry error. Also it wants to add new hardware for some reason but will not tell what the hardware is. What do you think this could be caused by? I did not change the voltage of the cpu when we installed everything. I did not load the safe defaults either. I assumed this was done for me. What type of voltage should this cpu have. It is a retail 1.2 ghz. Thanks!

What version of Windows are you running. You might try going back to a previous version of the registry, that has worked for me a couple of times. If you are using WinME with system restore turned on, go back to before the problem occurred. Also go into the BIOS and load the failsafe defaults.

The core voltage is safe up to 1.85v.
