Building a new system and was directed to drop this in the section instead of Off Topic in order to get a few more responses. Any suggestions on what to buy to make it more worthwhile...ie, cheaper/better?

dvd+-rw
199.00

ATX Case 350PSU - Mid Tower
59.99

Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Intel 875p 800/533/400 FSB
208.00

Intel p4/2.4GHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Tech 800 MHz FSB
174.

PC3700 DDR 512MB
94.00

Already have 2 40gig HD and an 128meg ATI 9200.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

oh, and what's the difference between the DDR memory such as pc2100/pc2400/pc2700, is it just bus speed? Thanks in advance!

I think you mean PC2700 not PC3700, right? Because that's rather cheap for PC3700. And by the way, since you are getting i875p, you might as well get the DDR400 that supports it. Corsair XMSPC3200C2PT is only $110 today at newegg.

DDR PC3700

As for the memory, are you saying that the mobo only supports up to 400MHz which would be any ddr pc3200, so there's no point in me buying the 3700?

Thanks for the help!

Hey that's a pretty good deal, but I stuck with good old Corsair PC3200C2, but the mobo supports up to 400Mhz but you can go ahead and overclock if you want.
