Need help with a logitech MX3000 Combo

Whenever i turn off my computer and restart it, the keyboard wont connect for some reason. I think the problem has to do with the fact i have a password on startup. I enabled the encryption, which also might be contributing to the problem. I can hit the f-lock button and the light changes on the base, so i know its connected, but it wont type in the password box. The mouse works.

Some how i got it to work the other day but not sure how. The tech support guy said to hit alt-ctrl-f12...but that doesnt seem to help.

Any ideas?
 
i had another type me problem with my set. the typing would lag by multiple seconds and sometimes just get stuck on one letter and repeat it a few times. i replaced the entire set and the problem went away but returned soon, this time though it happened less often. i gave up on fixing it. in both the scenarios the mouse worked perfectly and the lights on the base would react properly to lock keys.
