Ok I have a P4 2.4B Processor and I have overclocked to 2.7ghz. I hae PC2700 memory. I want to get it a little higher. I have not changed the voltage at all. It says that my memory when it boots is at 375Mhz. What does this mean? My settings are 150x18 currently. What can I do to make my memory stay at this (because I know it is stable) and get my FSB to about 160Mhz? Also I want to leave my AGP and PCI about the same which currently is at 75 and 37.5 respectively.

it's all about your clock speed dividers

for memory, your fsb is at 150, and your mem divider is at 4:5 making it 187.5 x 2, or 375

the gigabyte only offers two dividers in their bios, 1:1 and 4:5, so if you raise your fsb, you raise your mem speed, unless you drop your ratio down to 1:1, but that really hinders your memory performance, you can try increasing the mem voltage to make it more stable at 160 and 4:5, but I don't think that the gigabyte board offers a whole lot of mem voltage options. Try Easytune4, I hear it really adds a lot more versatility.

I hope this helps, but remember, I don't really know what I'm talking about.

What if I can get my FSB up to about 165Mhz? Would it be worth it then to run it at 1:1? Which of these would you choose?

A) CPU @ 2.7GHz with Memory running at 187.5Mhz or

B) CPU running at 2.97Ghz with memory running at 165Mhz

I mostly do video encoding and authoring.
