Easy to answer, if you have the money, get the 1080p Kuro (5010). If not, get the 720p Kuro (5080) as it is still a great display.

..as is a 1080p Panasoinc if you really want 1080p and prefer not to spend 2x for 10% more.

True. I'd say Panasonic is my second choice right under Pioneer.

Pioneer >> Panasonic > Samsung...then all the remaining detritus 😛

the place where you will really tell a loss between 720p and 1080p is from a PC source. In that case, it's best to go 1080p if you can. as for the factors that effect PQ, resolution (720p vs 1080p) is maybe 4th on a list of 4 important factors. the big difference in resolution is going from 480 to 720. sure, 1080 is best, but the difference is far more negligible than the difference between SD and HD.

once you hit HD, you get a damn fine picture. Best bet is to check out some sets in person and see what you prefer. Based on what I've seen, I feel that the 720p Kuro looks a lot better than a 1080p Panasonic. Of course, the 1080p Kuro is tits....if you wanna shell out the cash 😉
