Need help with 5.1 audio problem please

I have just reformatted my Windows and now I am trying to set up my 5.1 speakers again. I have Creative Inspire speakers (forget the number) but they are 5.1 and have the three analog connectors. I use my onboard audio of my Soyo K7V Dragon+ mobo. I am not sure which connectors go where, but when I installed the audio drivers I got a little program called Mixer.exe which had seperate volume controls for each of the 5 speakers and the subwoofer so I just fiddled with that until I got all of the plugs into the right jacks. My only problem is with the line involving the subwoofer and the center speaker. The sound for the subwoofer comes out of the center speaker and there doesn't seem to be any sound from the subwoofer. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to switch those two because they are on the same line. The line is plugged into a header card that I wired into the mobo years ago, is it possible I screwed up the wiring of this header? Is there some software fix I can find? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer!
