Need help with 2.4c overclock

Okay i have a Gigabyte MOBO (know for its poor overclock abilities), right now i have it overclocked to 2820MHz (235*12).
I have 2X256 CORSAIR MEMORY XMS PC400 at 2-3-3-6
Now the gigabyte mobo has a different devider (not 5:4 it is FSB*1.66 Roughly 5:3) so @ my overclock (of 235 FSB) the ram is speed is 390 MHz.

I want to get it to 3Ghz (ram speed of 415 MHz).
Every time that i try to get above 235 FSB, windows wont load (restarts). So i changed the divider to FSB*1.33 (Roughly 4:3) and got it to run at 3Ghz (memory speed at 333 MHz). So i know im limited by my ram.

Should i relax the memory timeings? What should i set the memory timeings to? How much voltage increase should i put on the ram? Or, should i just be happy with what i have now and wait for DDR 4000 to go down in price?

Hi ,

I have a Lan Party 875PRO and the RAM timings are like that i8 think .

I have options to change my RAM from :_
DDR 266
DDR 333
DDD400

I couldnt get past 2.9 GHz with thew DDR400 so i set it to DDR266 and it went to 3.5GHz and the RAM goes up nearly to 400 anyway with the high FSB if you set it to SPD . 😀

I dont know if this helps but it's just a few words because i dont have those dividers settings on my mobo either.

btw i set my vDimm 2.7v

( i just got this rig the other day , so its not in my sig yet )

It's DDR320 not DDR333

DDR400 = 1:1
DDR320 = 5:4
DDR266 = 3:2

400 * 4/5 = 320
400 * 2/3 = 266

that's how the ratios work in that system

no the ratios are not like they are unique
with a 5:4 divider 250 FSB would put the ram speed at 400MHz, but my divider is different so 1.66*FSB=RAM speed so 250 FSB has a ram speed of 415 MHz. And the other divider is 1.33*FSB=RAM speed so 250 FSB has a ram speed of 333 Mhz.

So the question are: is it possible to relax the ram timeings to get my ram to run @ 430 MHz and if yes what ram timmings should i use to be able to run my ram (3200) to run at 430 MHz? Also how much voltage should i add to the ram to make it stable?
