need help, windows opening up at start up for no reason

i installed norton personal firewall 2001 and now evertime i start or restart my computer a bunch of windows are opening up for each partition i have. here is what is in my autoexec file-
SET windir=C:\WINDOWS
SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
SET COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
SET PROMPT=$p$g
SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
is one of these commands doing this and can i delete the whole autoexec file all together with WinME? thanx

none of those commands are doing it, and you don't need them. norton might have some setting that's causing it to do this, also run msconfig and see if there's something starting up that you don't want.
