I had the same problem with my 636u scanner and I am using the Win 2000 drivers and they work fine for me. I had contacted Epson and they said to use them untill they came out with the regular XP drivers.

The drivers for Windows 2000 & XP r exactly the same.

Same code, same build, same flavour.

The problem with supplying new drivers for new OS's is that Microsoft changes the way the drivers interact with the OS.

It happened with Windows 2000, Windows ME and now it happened again with Windows XP...

I'm used to work with Microsoft Operating Systems since MS-DOS 3.3 and I never jumped into the upgrade wagon until I was pretty shure that my HW and Peripherals complied with a new OS.

Just use the v5.53A ones posted for the Perfection 1250. That's what I did and they are working fine for me.

I called Epson about drivers for my Perfection 1240U, and the tech told me to use the v5.53A's. Works fine.

My dad has the same scanner and is using it with XP as well. Epson's website says drivers won't be available until early 2002 but if you go to Espon's UK site, you can find the XP drivers there. That's what my dad did and everything works great.
