Hey gang. Due to a lack of funds and the fact my gf is never at home enough to enjoy real ones before they die, I am making her a dozen pink and white roses for Valentines day. I need to know if anyone has any ideas about the stems. Here is the flower i will be making but i have no clue as to what to do for stems. I NEED HELLLPPP!!! Thanx

LMAO!!! I remember doing this for my mom for Mother's Day when I was like 9 or so.......

I think I used pipe cleaner that was wrapped in green tissue paper and made some leaves from origami paper too.

Oh what, a geek cant be sweet as an adult... Wheres the love man wheres the love. I sit in a cube all day. I gotta express my creativity some how.

I may actually have to go with some fake stems from a craft store. the roses arnt that big but they my be to heavy for tissue paper. Pipe cleaners would work but i want it to look as real as possable. Thanks for the input.

Roll the tissue paper around the pipe cleaner.

And you can hang-dry flowers really well. My fiancee still has the first dozen that I bought her nearly 3 years ago. 🙂 (Well, five of them, at least.)

You could also try floral wire (just twist 5 or 6 strands together to get desired thickness).

How about real rose stems? you might be able to get some at a florist.

Never thought of that. Only problems with that is how long would they last? But even when they died it would still do the job. Or, maybe I could dry them out before hand? I'll check on that.

Wel i forgot i had this book but it has how to make leaves and stems. So thanks for input but i have answered my own question as usual. I should think longer before i speak.
