Need help watching DVD

DVD player works fine, was in my other rig. I put in this rig and it says I need a decoder. I downloaed the free one from Nvidia, and updated Media player. Still says it needs a DVD decoder installed.....Im lost.

What? It was free??? They tried to charge me!

Anyways, i think when i wanted to watch a dvd it was VLC? media player i downloaded. Had an icon like a traffic cone. It did the job.
 
it is a trial, but still says I have no decoder installed...I just want towatch a damn dvd....grrrrr
