Hi guys, was hoping someone can help me w/ this. I recently upgraded from Win2k to WinXP Professional. And the Intel Speedstep applet that was preloaded on my IBM T21 laptop is not compatible w/ winXP. So after the upgrade, I no longer have to option to choose if I want to run the Laptop at Max performance, which is 800mhz. Or Low performance(saves battery) at 650mhz. That is not the real problem, the real problem is that when I am using AC power my laptop is running at 650mhz as stated in System Properties. When on battery it runs at 500 Mhz. I am losing 150mhz. I was wondering if anyone know where I can download the latest version of Intel Speedstep software. Or is there a way to fix this? I really need help, my laptop is running so slow. Thanks in advance, Please reply here or PM me w/ any suggestion. Thanks again.

Windows XP should be changing the speed of your system to reflect how much speed it needs right now. It'll make it run faster if it needs it, or keep it slower if it doesn't. Thats how speedstep works in XP by default.

If you change your power scheme in the Power Management control panel applet to "Home/Office Desk", speedstep will work exactly like it used to in win2k. Slow on battery, fast on AC.
