This is actually going to be my first attempt to OC and didn't want to screw anything up. I running a P4C 2.4 processor, Abit IC7 mobo, 2 sticks of 512 PC3500 Corsair ram, all on stock air cooling. My goal is 3.0-3.2mhz, but I dont need to jump right up to that speed.

Please recommend what I should set the following as:

1. N/B Strap CPU As?
Options included: PSB400, PSB533, PSB800, PSB633

2. DRAM ration?
5:4 or 3:2?

3. AGP ratio?
Right now, it is set to auto 66/33. There is also an option for "fixed".

4. CPU Power Supply.

CPU core voltage? Currently at 1.525v

DDR SDRAM voltage? Currently at 2.6v

AGP voltage? Currently at 1.55v

5. DRAM Timing? Currently set at SPD.

CAS 2.5
Act to Precharge 8
RAS to CAS 3
RAS to Pre 3

6. Perfomance mode? Currently disabled.

Options include:
-ultra
-turbo
-fast

Any help is greatly appreciated as I'm a newbie at this. Thank you!

First, try the 5:4 ratio at 250 fsb with the default cpu vcore setting. If it works, go a little higher until you get error messages or it won't post. 270 seems to be the limit for most people. As for n/b strap, I have no idea, so I would leave it at the default setting. For dram timing, try 2-6-3-3 once you find the highest fsb setting. Performance mode- fast for stability. Asus boards tend to overvolt, so I wouldn't change the voltages much. You can go as high as 1.6 volts for the cpu (actual readings from asus probe or bios monitor).

Please recommend what I should set the following as:

1. N/B Strap CPU As?
800

2. DRAM ration?
5:4

3. AGP ratio?
fixed 66/33

4. CPU Power Supply.

CPU core voltage? Currently at 1.525v
Try 1.6. this will vary and you have to find what is needed

DDR SDRAM voltage? Currently at 2.6v
Go to 2.8

AGP voltage? Currently at 1.55v
Thats fine

5. DRAM Timing? Currently set at SPD.

Manual
CAS 2.5
Act to Precharge 7
RAS to CAS 3
RAS to Pre 3
Use this to start. Once you get you CPU speed determiied, you can lower these numbers to gain performance.

6. Perfomance mode? Currently disabled.
Leave it disabled

Is it correct that when I make a change in the option Ext. Clock (CPU/AGP/PCI) for CPU fsb, the AGP/PCI changes accordingly?

ie. If I change the cpu fsb to 250, then the AGP/PCI changes to 70/35MHz.

I still have AGP/PCI Frequency set to fixed 66/33 though.

EDIT: Nevermind... Im an idiot! The AGP/PCI said "fixed" next to it in blue and I thought it was preset to fixed.
