Need help w/ OLD computer

Ryan

Lifer
My friends mom wants me to try and fix one of their OLDER computers (386 - w/ win3.11 as she tells me). Whenever I boot it up, I hear a series of 8 beeps, and nothing. I think it's the video card, but I don't know. What should I do to make it work? The HD boots up, and the fans come on.

8 beeps is the PC speaker signal for Video, and I believe 3 elongated ones is for ram. Try swapping out vid cards, see if it helps.

Hmm, I moved the video card to another slot, now the system doesn't beep anymore...............but still no display......
