Here is the problem... I do NOT know how to connect the front USB connector to the mobo.

My mobo's USB connector has following connection:

(VVC)------------(VVC)
(USBDT2-)-----(USBDT3-)
(USBDT2+)-----(USBDT3+)
(GND)------------(GND)
(X)-----------------(X)

Also, is it possible to kill the mobo if the USB connection is incorrect?

I dont' know how to connect the front USB ports on that particular case, I would have to look at it myself. However, I seriously doubt that connecting the USB ports incorrectly with damage anything in your system.

this is my little problem.
friend of mine is installing the mobo, everything was perfect.
then he decided to connect the front USB to the mobo...and then..................everything DEAD!
(well, you can still see HD running....etc, but absolutely no boot up)

I check each component w/ my system (CPU, RAM, Video) and everything works.
then I proceed to only install video card, RAM, CPU and keyboard!!!! (not even FD) but it never boot again.
Tried, reset BIOS still doesn't work.

All cables are supposed to have their first pink marked with a little dot or "triangle" so you know where they go:

*****
^

Here, ^ indicates the first pin.

Are you sure you don't have the number "1" printed on the mobo and the little "^" on the cable?

I don't see how you could kill anything by plugging in the USB connector wrong...try resetting the cmos using the jumper, or pulling out the battery and letting it sit overnight.

VBboy;

That case's front USB connector come w/ 6 separate individual head..... (not exactly one solid block)
******* now I am confusing myself 🙁 ***********

Like I said, I have reset CMOS as well as took out the battery........still no luck.
Will let the mobo sit overnight w/o battery really helps?

Timekeeper,
If you email sales@evercase.com they will send you an Excel sheet showing connections for most motherboards. From the looks of it, your setup should be as follows:

1.....5V+..........2.....5V+
3.....D-.............4.....D-
5.....D+............6.....D+
7.....ground.....8.....ground

Unfortunately, I have an Intel MOBO and the connections are labeled differently, and in a manner that makes NO sense to me, so if anyone can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. The pin labels are as follows:
1 - VREG_FP_USB_PWR
2 - VREG_FP_USB_PWR
3 - ICH_U_P2#
4 - ICH_U_P3#=
5 - ICH_U_P2
6 - ICH_U_P3
7 - Ground
8 - Ground
9 - Key (no pin)
10 - ICU_U_OC1_2#

I tried hooking them up in the common order listed above, but I got a driver error when I plugged a USB hub into the front ports - the hub works fine in the rear ports.
Also, I noticed that the pink stripe on the cable is labeled as one of my Ground wires - the pink stripe usually signifies pin 1, but in this case, it would be in either pin 7 or 8 - I'm wondering if it's hooked up to the front hub in reverse?!?!?!
Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.

^Bump^ with new info.:
The guy from Evercase says I should hook them up the way I've tried, but they don't seem to work.
I've scoured the Intel site looking for something I'm missing, like a driver to enable the front USB, or something like that.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks,
