Need help w/ Grado headphones.

Does anyone know how I can get my SR-80s to stop hurting the hell out of my ears? I posted about this before but I lost the link.
TIA. 🙂

I think there was a mod where you used some thick rolled up socks for cushions...probably on head-fi.com. I stopped using them because they hurt my ears so much.

There are some Sennheiser pads that will fit onto the SR-80s(and probably others) that will make a world of difference...

Unfortunately I gave up and have been using some HD-495's. I'll probably sell the Grados.

Don't fret it - if I belched next to a candle right now CNN would be covering something in NYC!

I replaced the pads on my Alessandro MS-1's with these pads after cutting a dime sized hole in the center under parts the replacement pads for the HD414 or HD414classic part number 019545. Cheap and non-destructive.

This should work.

Think this is what I'm going to do. Quesiton: Do these come in one in the default item or in sets of 2s? Also any idea on what I should do w/ the old pads?

replace with phones that have cups that don't put pressure on your ear. circumaural i think

I agree. What's good with good sound quality when the headphones are hurting your ears. I bought a pair of sr225 to try long time ago, just couldn't bear with the pain they put on the ears. Went with sennheiser 580/600/650 and never looked back at any grado again.

bend the metal retainer that goes over your head so it fits less tightly 😉

[too obvious . . . but it worked for me] 😀
