OK, here's the situation: I'm trying to connect an old Genius ColorPage-SP scanner to my old Compaq.
The computer is equipped with an Adaptec 2940 SCSI card hosting a hard disk (SCSI id = 0) and a CD-rom (SCSI id = 3). This configuration works perfectly.
However, with the scanner connected it doesn't work anymore. The computer initialises the SCSI bios (lists the SCSI devices and their IDs, displays 'SCSI Bios installed successfully') but then it just stops. I've tried changing the scanner ID from 6 (default) to 1, 2, 4 and 5, but with no success. Sometimes I also get messages like 'Invalid partition table'.
If this piece of information helps: the cable goes from SCSI card to CD rom to hard disk to terminating piece.
What should I do?
