Hi,
For starters I have a MSI k7n2 delta and an amd 3.0 XP, and a sparkle 300w power supply. The comps been running fine for about a year now.
Ok so I'm in the process of moving the computer to a different room and setting it all up. I get everything connected and press the power button and the green power light flashes on and off instantly but no fans or anything like that turn on.
Perplexed I start taking stuff out, get it to just the power supply, mobo, and processor connected. I find out that flipping the 1/0 switch on the back of the PS resets something and lets me turn it on again for another test. With just hte processor and mobo the fans turn on but it turns off after about 2 seconds with no beeps.
So the next thing I do is try it with just the mobo, now the fans stay on and it seems solid.
I figure maybe the processor is overheating or something weird, so I clean out all the dust, reapply thermal paste etc, give it a shot with the mobo and processor again and it says on. Very strange I think but I hook evreything back up again and it seems to be working.
So I'm playing half life 2 and it turns off outa nowhere again. I check what temperature the cpu is at and it's running very cool (100 F) so it's not that, so I disabled all overclocking.
That's where I'm at now. Could it have been the overclocking? I've been overclocking it for a year... I haven't tried any games yet but it's been up for about 10 minutes now.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm just going to burn it in some and see if I have any more problems with it I guess.
Thanks,
Tom
