I'm planning on getting the new 2200xp and thinking if it will work on my current k7s5a that I bought a year ago that has a 1.4g TB on it..
I heard only the newer revision support the XP chip.. how can I check that..
if I have an older board.. is there any way to flash the bios to make it work with XP chips?
anyone ?

The original-generation K7S5A will take the 2200+ with a BIOS update that came out back in February. You might want to flash the BIOS before getting rid of your TBird, if your BIOS is not already the February release or later. For BIOS-flash instructions, consult their site: AMI BIOS-update utility instructions.

The reason I believe the 2200+xp needed a bios flash also like countless other boards is the fact it is a T-bred chip....it needed to make sure it recognized it properly to set the vcore right.....

What revision is the board?? Mine was a rev 3 and I bought it 1 month before xp's were released but I though many were using them fine...xps had no voltage change but may have needed something to take advantage of the TLB, hardware prefetch, and sse...
