need help upgrading to 2k from Me...

i just got present from my brother (win2k upgrade) and have not been able to install because of upgrade path issue. when i try to do the upgrade from windows it tells me to install this and that disk. i dont have any of these of course and wanted to know how i could force the upgrade. i am aware of the win me/2k release dates issue, but have heard this to be possible. anyone? linkage?
 
btw... i'm not new to anands, i had been a member for a year or so until the aol email issue:disgust:... just thought i would share that.
 
I can't help you with your problem all I can say is to back up everything important and do a clean install from the upgrade CD
