Hi to all im prateik i need help:

My current specs is

Intel Core i7 930 @ 2.8Ghz/Mhz Quad Core with 8mb cache
Intel Workstation Board WX58BP with 2 x pci-e 2.0 x16 slot
http://ark.intel.com/products/46549/Intel-Workstation-Board-WX58BP

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/server-motherboards/server-board-wx58bp.html

http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/workstations/workstation-board-wx58bp-brief.html
2 x 2GB (total 4GB) DDR-3 1333Mhz Ram 1333 Mhz ( upgrading soon 8GB: 2 x4GB )
1x TB Seagate HDD @7200 RPM
Nvidia Quadro FX 580 @ DDR-3 512MB
PSU:VIP current @ 500watts ( if req. i'll upgrade it )
1 x LG DVD Drive
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 64bit

so i want to upgrade gpu any suggestion (i think any ati/amd gpu )
the intel says that my board fully support support ATI CrossFireX technology ( i think expand limits with 2GB )
i'm confuse which gpu buy for high to ultra high end gaming with ATI/AMD CrossFireX. Want to build system with ATI CrossFireX. (if more power PSU needed i'll upgrade )
pls reply
:) :)

If you want AMD CrossFire for "ultra high end gaming" then get 2 7970 GHz Edition. Of course you didn't specify a budget, so I don't know if you want to spend the $1000 or so it will take to do that. And yeah, your 500W PSU won't even come close to handling that configuration.

For Multi-GPU I would go Nvidia.

Better/faster profile support, more troubleshooting options (you can change the SLI compatibility bits to improve performance, when scaling should be bad), smoother gameplay due to frame-metering.

Unfortunately, I see your board doesn't support SLI.

Pheran : like i said the board support only 1gb gpu per slot n i dnt think the 7970 available @1gb
and my budget arround 300-350 $
dnt worry bout PSU not beggie

Jaydip : u r right bt this board works with me jst fine... so i really dont think to change it right now ( maybe in the future :D )

Prateik the problem is that being a workstation board it doesn't offer you any overclocking abilities at all. Also your memory will always run @1066Mhz(with tighter timings)so faster memory will have almost no impact.

If if conforms to standard PCI-Express 2.0 X16 specifications, then it's not limited to 1GB per slot. Not sure where you get that idea. You may be getting that confused with troubles people run into running GPUs with lots of memory with 32-bit operating systems, due to addressing limitations.

If your budget is only around $300, you should not be thinking about Crossfire. Just get a 7950 and you are done. As Arkaign said, your motherboard should not limit your GPU memory; that doesn't make any sense.

Jaydip: currently im running my memorry @1333Mhz dosent find any problem..
bt u r right sucky workstation dosent allow OC dnt get ur point about memory

Arkaign: i think u r right bt whe i chek sys. info or @ nvidia's CP's System Info that says "Total available graphic memory 2298MB" and onther tab says "Shared system memory 1786" so basicly i calculate this: 2298-512= 1786 i really dont knw what that means; bt some r my frnds says this is u r limit for graphic memory.
do u knw n e of this jst reply
thnxx to all :)
