Need help upgrading Firmware on Netgear RT314 router....

Does know how long it takes to upload the *.bin file to upgrade the firmware on the netgear rt314 router VIA the web based browser
->maintence->upgrade function?

I clicked "upload" and IE just said, "web site found, waiting for reply" and nothing happened. i didn't get a some sort of confirmation screen. Plus when i checked the version of the firmware, it was still the same version, like nothing happened.....

any tips?

Do I need to upload both the BIN AND ROM files? I have initally tried only uploading the BIN file.
 
Okay i successfully updated the firmware, BUT now, the router shows nothing under the DHCP table. Usually the mac addresses of everyone connected to the router would show up in there, but not after i upgraded. What can I do?
 
If your upgrading the RT314 to the newest version-->3.25 dated (04 june 2001), you have to upload both the "bin" and "rom" files.
After both of these 2 files are uploaded your config will be empty and needs to be reprogrammed just like when it was new.

After updating to the 3.25 firmware you will have MORE config options when using the Web browser interface. You can still use the telnet interface if you want tho.

Lets you route ranges of ports.
 
Ahh. Well, unless they get an update that allows me to browse Network Neighborhood (outside of the router), I'm sticking with the original firmware.
