Need help upgrading fan of laptop

I have a Dell inspiron 4150 and want to upgrade to a better, quiter fan that keeps the temperature lower, as the current one is really loud and the cpu still runs up to temperatures of 60C+
Is it possible to upgrade the fan, and which brand and model do you recommend?

Nope.

Clean out the fan with compressed air (don't spin the fan though with the air, you'll ruin the motor)
Apply better thermal compound

If you replace the fan with a Dell replacement part, it might be a bit quieter. That's about it

It's almost impossible not to spin the fan with air like that....and I've never seen that ruin a motor either.

Removing the fan and cleaning it can make a world of difference. A bit of grapihte lubricant and a few rubber grommets between the screws and the mounting posts may help with the noise issue.
Also, spinning the fan causes no harm at all, so long as the laptop is off.

Well if you spin the fan fast enough, it COULD damage it. Same thing with using compressed air with ball bearings.. Yea OP, you can't change it out, what you need to do is remove all the old sh!tty thermal compound and replace it with some arctic Silver 5.
