Been out of the loop for a while...
I've got a 6800 Ultra with 2 DVI ports and I'd like to try the following:
The PC with the video card is near an HDMI input to a 720P projector and a Dell 20" monitor. I have a DVI to HDMI adapter cable for the PJ and the Dell Monitor takes the DVI input direct. I want to output the same video signal to the PJ and Monitor simultaneously.
I'm assuming the signal is always there, at both ports on the vid card... If I'm displaying the same video on both screens, I assume there is no slowdown of displaying 2X the number of pixels since it's the same image.
Now, if I tried to play a different image on the other output, I assume this would cause a noticable drop in FPS?
Am I understanding this right?
