So I am think of putting an A64 in my next system and was wonder with the onboard memory comtroller, how does that effect what speed of memory you use. I assume it still amke s differance between using PC2100 and PC3200. What should the A64 be paired with, does it depend on the motherboard? I don't really plan to overclock, so i don't really need top of the line stuff.

PC3200 is what the present A64 is intended for. You can scope out AnandTech's CPU articles for insight on the Hammer architecture (A64/FX/Opteron) if that isn't quite as much detail as you were after.
