Hi my friend passed this onto me because they don't know what to do. When you plug it inthe lights come on, but when you boot it, nothing happens.. no beeps, no display, no fan. I tried booting from a bootable floppy and still no result. I removed the keyboard and made sure that all the connectors were plugged in. That's about where my knowledge ends. 😀

I was thinking the motherboard is shot because the fan doesn't come on. Is there anything else I can do, before I label it a goner??

Thanks guys and gals! 😀

Maybe open the panels at the bottom and check that the RAM is firmly in place and that the HDD is connected properly. Ive had that happen, and usually just open it up and do a bit of tinkering with the wires to make sure they are all connected properly etc

One of our old Toshibas had a bad power button. The button was actually a long piece of plastic and it had gotten misaligned.

If give up and you're going to trash it please PM me. I might be able to use some of the parts!

Thanks
